In my life I’ve broken just about every mold ever set for me, which led me to some really beautiful moments, and also some terrible ones, yet every single one of those moments led me to where I am now, for which I’m extremely grateful. In my work, I’m interested in reflecting that; I love taking a traditional practice like pottery and then moving away from the expectations associated with that tradition as much as possible. In that separation – as I transform the clay along that journey away from what’s expected – I’m sculpting a new history for myself, and in sharing my work with the world, my hope is that I’ll be helping others to do the same.

My work has become my story. So, I create abstract sculptures that speak of metamorphosis, of change, of transformation. I use high contrast and often neon colors, spikes, chains, and all kinds of atypical ornamentation in my work to represent the struggles we experience, and the evolution that happens inside us as we grow through them.
